18″x 24″, Acrylic on paper

One of my solutions for coping with the cold, short and dreary days of winter was keeping vases full of fresh flowers around the house. On an especially gray day in February, I stopped by the florist for some cheerful flowers, but instead came home with the most unusual chrysanthemums in shades of purple, lavender and deep mauve. It seemed appropriate to celebrate all the subtle shades of winter with my exquisite February flowers.
