Beautiful, old Navajo weavings came out of the Rio Grande valley. A friend gave me a book on all these weavings, and naturally I was compelled to make some designs, which are for the most part true replicas of the originals. Many of the weavings were designed to be rugs, but many were also serapes, or blankets. Here is a simple Navajo serape in black and bright red with a touch of yellow and brown.
