Frangipani Blessing

Aqua oil on canvas, 24″x36″

I have had this lovely Kuan Yin statue for many years. She has traveled with me everywhere I move, gracing front porches, portals, gardens and corners in my home. Wherever she sits, she is a constant companion reminding me to nurture my compassionate heart. We moved to the tropics last year where she landed in my son’s corner garden for several months beneath a lovely frangipani tree. These trees appear almost dead in winter here, but come spring burst forth with elongated leaves followed by the fragrant frangipani flowers. One day, frangipani blooms were raining down upon the Kuan Yin. It seemed so appropriate these heavenly blossoms were adorning her. It was a Frangipani blessing.
