Lilies of Destiny
Acrylic on paper, 22″x30″
When I was forty-five years old, I dated a twenty-eight year old man for about a year. It was one of the best years of my life, I have to say. He was special, and I learned so much from him. I knew it wasn’t going to last as he was still in med school, and had his whole life ahead of him. I already had two sons in their twenties! Before he left once, which unknowingly would be the last time I would see him for a long time, he brought me these beautiful white lilies. I place them in my favorite cobalt blue vase. A few days later I had to paint them. I didn’t name this painting for a long time which was rare. It was months later when I realized I had to let him go, and my lilies of destiny became clear.
Framed in beautiful light brown wood.
