Acrylic on paper, 9″x12″

Though I usually painted from sketches, I started taking cool photographs from which to work. This was a close up of  a butterfly lost in the lavender. I loved this ability to accentuate certain things in the foreground, and then soften and diffuse the background. Other people must have liked it, too, because I sold most of the paintings I did using this technique.
