Mimosa

Acrylic on canvas, 22″x 28″

Right outside my studio door overlooking the pond is a lovely Mimosa tree. It goes through many stages, from being almost bare in winter to a burst of new leaf growth in spring, followed by an abundance of delicate, feather-like, white flowers surrounded by lime green clusters of leaves in summer. The final stage in the fall is marked by the clusters of lime green leaves that turn into beautiful shades of orange and copper.
I hung a bird feeder in this tree along with a bird bath beneath its cascading branches. Both of these attract a spectacular show of many birds, a few squirrels, occasional ducks and blue herons that convene to feast and drink around this delightful Mimosa tree.

This painting is framed in rustic gold, and can be shipped with or without the frame.
