Aprons In The Wind

Acrylic on paper, 14″x20″

I used to go visit the most wonderful black woman named Josie. She became a dear friend whom I cherished. She would always cook a meal when she knew I was coming. It was always the same meal, and it was always so good. You can’t go too wrong with a southern meal of fried chicken, stewed tomatoes and corn pudding. She always had an apron on, and one day she had some of her floral aprons out on the clothes line. I had to paint Josie’s aprons in the wind.
