Orchids are without question my favorite flower. There are so many types of orchids, and each one has their own exotic essence. I have quite a collection, and my favorite orchid to grow is a cattleya because they produce the biggest, most exquisite, fragrant blooms of all. It took me a while to figure out how to get them to bloom again, which happened by accident. I put all my orchids outside on the porch when I left town in late summer. When I arrived home, the cattleyas had all set buds. It was the cool temperatures at night that had set the budding in motion. I was so delighted.
