Passing the Bosque

Aqua oil on canvas, 24″x30″

I captured this scene passing the bosque with a sketch while driving down south in New Mexico. Bosque is the name in the southwest for a clustering of trees along the flood plains of riverbanks. This was in October when all the cottonwoods trees in the bosque were turning to gold, and the chamisa to shades of yellow.
