Red Chile Fields

Acrylic on paper, 22″x30″

I did the sketch for this painting in the truck when I went south with my boyfriend to Las Cruces one October, and we were passing through Hatch. I had never seen red fields before anywhere. Mile after mile we passed by these flaming red chile fields with the cottonwoods turning gold behind them, and the red hills and mystical mountains rising in the distance. Not much more to say.
