Red Villa Garden Path

Acrylic on paper, 12″x16″

For the past year I have been living in an old, established neighborhood built in the 1950s. Many of the houses are still radiating their fifties character, but new owners are slowly remodeling these outdated, classic styles into very unique and modern homes. I have three favorite houses in the neighborhood that are all painted some shade of red. Each one is very different: one looks like it belongs in Santa Fe, the other in the Mediterrean and this one belongs with other haciendas and villas in Mexico. This red villa is surrounded by the most amazing jungle garden. In early summer, a giant poinsettia tree looms over the house showering down its bright red blooms. The red villa garden path is decorated with all these beautiful blossoms.
