My son and his wife have a really lovely pool in their backyard, and it is graced at one end with this large frog. I like to swim laps in the pool, a lot of laps, so I got to know this frog pretty well. Over time his presence while I swam took on different roles from being my guardian, my lifeguard, my muse, my totem and my friend. Those electric green eyes were always watching me. Eventually I decided it was time to honor this pool frog with a portrait.
