The Galisteo creek runs for about eighty miles, I think. Summer in the creek was the best because there was usually still some water so you could cool off if you were walking in and along the creek. There were these wide, sandy banks where you could stop and hang out, pretend you were on the beach. Mostly I walked in the creek in summer so my Blue Heeler dog could run and play in the water. She loves the water.
