Thanksgiving Circle

Acrylic on paper, 14″x20″

I painted this while the Thanksgiving turkey was cooking in the oven. It was an unusually warm day for November so I painted on the front porch. I wanted to capture this light coming through the bare trees along the fence that was creating red and purple shadows in the trees, and then spilling shadows into the field. Before I was done, a circle of black crows appeared. They were still there an hour or so later when my guests arrived for our Thanksgiving circle.

Unframed.
