End of Cataract Canyon

Aqua oil on canvas, 18″x36″

I did a river trip down Cataract Canyon in 2005. It was one of the most thrilling adventures ever in some seriously big water. You spend days hemmed in by the huge canyon walls. At the end of Cataract Canyon, the river opens into a wide expanse with beautiful surrounding landscape vistas. After I painted this view, a friend saw it and asked if I had intended to paint the purple horse, which of course I did not. Do you see it?

Unframed.
