The beautifully preserved, hill top village of Pienza is a Tuscan, Renaissance gem. We spent most of a day here wandering up and down all the charming streets.This is a village that has everything you need, but it’s unlike the one stop shop trend in America. Here, you go to the butcher for your meat, another shop for your cheese and veggies, the bakery for your bread, the cafe shop for your coffee, the linen shop for your new tablecloth and so on. I would imagine that each one of your purchases has a bit more meaning since you have to specifically seek it out. It’s the way it used to be, and I loved it. Do not miss this town on your trip to Italy!
