Purple Shadow
Acrylic on paper, 14″x20″
I was out walking one fall, crisp day when I came across this view. The rolling field had turned copper in the cool air, and the light was casting a huge purple shadow in the foreground. There was this row of trees that lined the top of the hill, and it looked so strange, yet wonderfully simple. Sometimes I wonder about painting such an understated scene, but it says what it has to say boldly…and I like that.
Unframed.
